xrmanParticipantI just ordered a PRGR range finder. ( birthday present from the family)
Pros
1) small size/ easily carried in the golf bag
2) cost $299 Au ( relatively cheap)
3) display shows swing speed, ball speed , carry and total distance, smash factorCons
1) not in metric units ; which is slightly inconvenient, but nothing I can’t get over using mental arithmetic.
2) no spin numbers or trajectory dataHopefully it arrives tomorrow and I can work out the %error in the read out, using my range finder.

OldBogeyParticipantAre you sure there’s no imperial/metric option?
People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
No championships worth mentioning in recent years.

WeetbixParticipantIs this a range finder or a launch monitor?

Sounds more like a launch monitor, but not much use either way if there’s no golf.

BumpunRunParticipantNot much for a launch monitor?
There is a yeet load of use if there is no golf, but I think you knew that

xrmanParticipantSorry launch monitor. What was I thinking?
The instructions were clear. It is very small ( pocket size).
Swing speed seems correct. My Driver speed at the Mt. Gambier Pro shop monitor was measured at 93mph. The PRGR ( red eye model) measured it at 92mph.
The ball speed and carry distance is calculated from swing speed for the club selected. It gave ball speed and carry distance or total distance. It does smash factor.I set up on the range and went through my clubs, hitting 5 new balls. I compared the read out on the PRGR and then walked out and shot the distance back to my bag with the laser range finder ( next to the hitting position). I was hitting into a slight wind. The instructions stated that wind would affect the results. On my higher lofted clubs the readout was 10% optimistic and the low lofted clubs were 5 % optimistic.
I think it will be a useful tool.

xrmanParticipantA review by Clay Ballard. I think it is a fair appraisal of its abilities.
