Good news or the bad news??

Good news Jimmy Barnes playing same weekend as our coveted National event in the Hunter

Bad news. Accomodation is now stupidly expensive

Need ideas of some accom/ dinner golf venue for Saturday night up to say 30min for courses to make our new home base

If the dinner is already booked at Cypress Lakes then that should not matter. As for accommodation…. that is going to be a whole different kettle of fish. Generally when there is a concert on in the Vineyards, whatever is available for a roughly 20km radius is booked out. Even the smallest of hotels and B&B’s up the price and get snapped up.

If we maintain the current playing scenario, it takes roughly 15-18mins in any direction out of the Cessnock area. Kurri Kurri is about 20 mins N/E of Cessnock, but there isn’t a great deal of accommodation available. After that is Maitland at around the 35 min mark with quite a few hotels and a pretty good Par 71 course. To the S/E you are probably looking at Toronto as a place that would have the accommodation and once again,,, about 30/35 min to Cessnock.

OR WE COULD ALL STAY AT BLACKSNAKE AND THE GOOD EGGS RESIDENTIAL PALACES.

I’ll drop in and see Jimmy tomorrow and see if he can move his concerts to the following weekend.

Holiday rentals through Stayz or Expedia and the like are probably the way to go. Plenty of 3 bedroom houses available in the area and they don’t generally get totally booked out for weekend concert stuff.

Too bad he isn’t playing at Bimbadgen Estate. You would have heard his rehearsal while we play The Vintage as it’s next door. Mind you, if the wind is blowing from the south/east we may still hear him from Roche.

NOTICE: HI everyone – a follow up from the announcement I sent yesterday to everyone.

Pigskin has reserved 12 – 3bdr apartments at Crowne Hunter Valley which is on the doorsteps of the Friday game and now may become our dinner venue.
If you are interested in sharing accom please pm me with the nights you are needing, as we need to pair up people based on room nights to get best pricing.

Its still fr $115pn pp rate which is not bad considering what else is available in the region. (based on 4 night quadshare)

Let me know 4 nights Wed-Sun, 3 nights Thu – Sun, 2 nights, Fri -Sun, or 1 night Sat-Sun.
Apartments are 3 bedrooms, with one of the bedrooms available to split for two people (2 beds) so 4 people option.

There are some single and 2 people options available if this is preferred.
