Regional airport at Albury. You can fly in with Qantas, Rex or Virgin (limited services) form all major centres but it will be hire car from there. 1 hr max to Murray courses.

Keep cost down for this event. keep the event to 4 days.(mon & Tuesday are not needed)
for main event look at the following 4 course which have all the requirements we need.

Rich river -Echuca – very affordable accommodation on course, and good cheap meals in club house, could do dinner at venue 36 holes on site = 2 courses with access both days, big putting green for putting comp.good practice facilities.

Yarrawonga – affordable accommodation on course, meals in club house could do dinner at venue, 2 course.54 holes good practice facilities

Tocumwal- affordable accommodation close to course, meals in club house, could do dinner at venue, good practice facilities 36 holes.

Corowa: 27 holes- so could play a 54 hole tournament affordable accomodation on site meals in club house,could do dinner at venue, good practice facilities.

Thursday /friday event play at one of either these

Thurgoona
Albury.

closest airport is Albury.

Sounds good, I seriously don’t think we should risk setting foot on the grass of Howlong. I foresee lightning and the smite of golf gods if we did… 😱

Will definitely play Howlong on the way down. As a former member and having played it on at least a doz occasions, pre – during & post membership it is not a bad track. Probably not of a Nationals standard but enjoyable none the less. I do however get your undertone meaning in the post. And as a former member who moved on to other digs, fuck them who think that remote membership is hurting the industry. I think it actually helps. Got me and Zoo back into the member base by allowing us to obtain a handicap and then source a course we liked and offer what we were looking for. Post ISG rant over. Thanks for listening..

Yarrawonga would be the logical choice for the fri-sun games 3 great and slightly different courses. Howlong and Thurguna good tracks also. 5cents added

Thurgoona is the only one I’ve played.. few decades back, twas good, almost very good.. 😀

Thurgoona is a good track but I think the condition has gone downhill a tad. Played it and Howlong on the way down to the Nats in 2016. Have played Howlong on quite a few occasions and it has improved with numerous reno’s over the years. Corowa is probably better than both. Commercial aint all that bad either, but a bit shorter than the others. I am being a bit preemptive, but my order of play on the way down for 2021 Nats would be Wagga, followed by Howlong, Black Bull and then whatever the 10yr Nats throws up.
