Take a Stroke for Stroke event needs your help

IT’S like everything,” PGA member Gary Begg says of his recently launched Take a Stroke for Stroke

campaign. “No one gets involved until it has effected them.”

Gary lost his father, Robert, in June last year almost two years after the elder Begg had suffered a stroke.

Robert never drank or smoked in his life and was always fit and healthy. He’d had a stroke and it paralysed his whole left side. It was a huge shock because his health was good and always had been.

“After that I learned a lot about stroke and what a danger it is and that’s why I decided to

start this campaign to try to raise money for the National stroke foundation.”

As a long time PGA Member Gary knew golf would be a good instrument to raise money and the Take a Stroke for Stroke concept was born. Stroke is the second biggest killer in Australia behind coronary disease, so it’s in all our interests to learn as much about it as possible.

It is not just an Old person disease stroke can strike anyone at any time.

“Please support the event so more people can survive a stroke.”

25 Groups of 4 Players are required for a Take A Stroke for Stroke charity Golf day open to any player with or with out a handicap.
