The Junior Golf Alliance officially launched in September, bringing with it a wealth of training, support and member services for current junior golf coaches and those aspiring to coach golf to children and young people.

Training & Education

This new organisation have ambitious plans to change the face of children’s golf coaching for the better by focusing on the importance of understanding how children learn and are motivated to learn as against the technical elements of the golf swing. New members of the Alliance receive the “Coaching Golf to Children” eLearning course free-of-charge (non-member cost £85). This new course is split into seven modules covering topics such as:
  • The motivational needs of children
  • The role of parents and how to encourage them to contribute positively to their child’s development
  • How to provide enjoyable and appropriate golf experiences
  • Setting up play activities and games in coaching sessions
  • The coaches role in safeguarding children
  • Establishing a healthy junior golf coaching business
Over the forthcoming weeks the Alliance will be releasing a further five eLearning courses, all with preferential enrolment fees for members. In addition, during the first quarter of 2017, they’ll be announcing the dates and details of their workshop series – to be held at venues across the UK.
